One of my gift-giving ‘strategies‘ is to consider a few characteristics of the person I am trying to buy a present for.
Stationery lovers are great to shop for because there is a vast array of cute gifts.
Gift Guide For Stationery Lovers: 21 Awesome Gift Ideas that will delight your friends.
The list of gift ideas for stationery lovers was super fun to put together! Admittedly, because I have a slight obsession with all things stationery, too.
Gift Ideas For Stationery Lovers: Pens, Pens, and More Pens!
1 – Kuretake Brush Pen No. 55
This pen is excellent for both calligraphy and hand lettering. It’s a dual-tip brush. The Kuretake #55 has an ultra-thin nip and a fat nip on one side.
The thin nip is ideal for writing and journaling. In addition, the skinny tip makes it easy to write in small letters.
The fat nip is excellent for practicing up and downstrokes. Because of its flexibility and thickness, you can achieve a painterly look.
Like with any thicker tip, it takes a little practice to get used to. The ink is highly pigmented. Overall the Kuretake #55 is a fantastic pen and fit for gift ideas for stationery lovers.
2 – Kuretake Medium Tip Brush Pen
When a Pen meets Brush … the result is a Calligraphy Brush Pen. Kuretake is a Japanese company that has been making pens since 1902!
So far, I have found that their pens and markers are excellent. For example, the Medium Tip Brush Pen is great for calligraphy and hand-lettering.
This pen is also helpful for somebody who wants to learn Kanji (Japanese writing style). But even if you are ‘just‘ a fellow pen enthusiast like me, you’ll be thrilled working with this pen.
Like every other Kuretake, this brush pen is also highly pigmented and gives your artwork a rich look. A word of caution.
It might take you a while to get the hang of this brush pen, and I’d classify this one as an intermediate one.
3 – WATER BRUSH SET
This set includes one bold, one medium, and one fine point-sized water brush pen. You can add either water or ink can be into the small chamber.
I recommend using an inexpensive set of eye droppers. You can use these brushes with watercolors or with ink. The advantage of a water brush over a regular paint brush is that simple.
Once you fill the little chamber with water (or ink), you can regulate the amount of water you want to use.
Quite a few people like to use a brush set like this for their bullet journals or mixed media art journals.
You’ll have to experiment, but I found that the medium brush nip works best for hand lettering.
4 – Sakura Pigma Micron Pen Set
My go-to pen for writing in my bullet journal. Bullet journals have been a hot trend for many years, and it looks like that’s not about to change any time soon.
And the tip is fine but easy to write with; even though I’ve accidentally left them open overnight, not one of them has dried out.
These pens are also known as ‘Bible pens’ because you can use them to make notes in your (journaling) bible.
For those who don’t know, bible pages are notoriously thin, meaning that if you want to make any notes, most pens will bleed through.
That’s not the case with the Micron Pens. Instead, the ink quality is superb and is waterproof, fade-resistant, and quick drying.
5 – Pilot Disposable Fountain Pen
Super cute disposable fountain pen with pink ink! I love the way these fountain pens feel on paper.
And at moderate use, the ink lasts for months. These disposable fountain pens also come in a beautiful teal color.

6 – Tombow Lettering Set
The Tombow Lettering set is an excellent gift for anybody who wants to get into the lettering. It’s perfect for beginners.
The drawing pen (and eraser) are great for the initial sketching.
And you’ll appreciate the dual brushes that allow you to draw big and bold letters. The colorless blender is excellent for creating beautiful effects and subtly combining multiple colors.
It’s a great set for someone who is brand new to lettering.

Bonus Recommendation
I’ve tried to include products from well-known brands and others from lesser-known brands in this gift guide.
All the products in this guide are items I have purchased in the past and loved and can wholeheartedly recommend.
Bonus Suggestion: Silhouette Cameo
For years I’ve loved the Silhouette Cameo. It’s the kind of machine that can do so much. It’s a cutting machine that can cut anything you can dream of and design on your computer.
The Cameo comes with its proprietary software. I use an older model, but the Cameo 4 looks terrific.
Although it seems that the Cricut has been all the rage lately. 🙂
